シンガポールとノルウェーの文化的な背景をもち、 2009年に来日した。以前学者としてつとめ、アートや研究を通して世界・自分とその様々なつながりを探っている。蛇のように脱皮するという方向性をもち、水彩、粘土、刺繡などの手法を使用し、変化や流動性を歓迎するアプローチを目指している。
Sonja has been living in Japan since 2009, and comes from a mixed cultural background (Singapore and Norway). Formerly an academic, Sonja uses art and research as a means of learning more about the world, about oneself, and about the connections that exist between us. With “snakeskin” as a concept for their art practice, Sonja embraces change and shedding, employing a variety of mediums such as watercolour, polymer clay, and embroidery in their work.
