Lai Wei（ライ・ウェイ）は1981年12月、中国・重慶生まれ。2004年に北京の清華大学美術学院絵画科を卒業。2004年から2006年まで蘇州工芸美術学院にて教鞭を執る。2006年以降は北京を拠点に活動するプロフェッショナル・アーティスト。 彼女の作品は、「生」の状態、身体感覚、潜在意識、夢などを主題とし、芸術作品の公共性を重視しながら、作品と人との相互作用を取り入れている。科学的・哲学的な資料を用い、数理モデル、言語、イメージによって絶えず更新されるエネルギーシステムを構築している。
Lai Wei was born in Chongqing, China, in December 1981. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts, School of Painting, at Tsinghua University in Beijing in 2004. From 2004 to 2006, he taught at the Suzhou Institute of Craft and Aesthetics. Since 2006, he has resided in Beijing and is a professional artist.
Her works are concerned with states of living, bodily experiences, subconsciousness, and dreams, where she puts emphasis on public properties of artistic work, and incorporates the interaction of works and people. Scientific and philosophical materials are often used to construct an ever-upgrading energy system in languages of mathematical models, words, and pictures.
