Andy Clineは、アメリカのウェスタン・カロライナ大学でMFAを取得し、これまでアメリカ各地および日本において、画家、アートディレクター、ギャラリー・プレパレーター、デザイナーとして活動してきた。2012年に日本へ移住して以来、名古屋や横浜を中心に作品を発表している。
現在は黄金町のスタジオを拠点に、記録されたサイクルに基づいて制作を行っている。彼の絵画作品では、キャンバスを24時間の単位に分割することで構成された決定論的な下地と、主観的に選ばれたモチーフが結びつけられる。近年は、ヨーヨーや卓球のラケット、モンスターなどを題材としている。

Andy Cline holds an MFA from Western Carolina University and has worked across the U.S. and in Japan as a painter, art director, and gallery preparator, and designer. Relocating to Japan in 2012, he has exhibited in Nagoya and Yokohama. At his Koganecho studio he works in documented cycles, each painting unites a deterministic ground, structured by dividing the canvas into units of a 24-hour day, with a subjectively chosen figure, most recently yo-yos and ping-pong paddles, and monsters.
