Doyeon Lim（1997年生まれ）は韓国出身のアーティストである。2024年に韓国芸術総合学校にて美術修士号を取得し、同大学で視覚芸術の学士号も取得している。 彼女は「陶芸という古いメディアは現代においてどのような意味を持つのか」という問いを探求している。身体の制約を乗り越える方向へと進む現代的価値観とは対照的に、陶芸は重さを持ち、人間が地に足をつけて生きてきた長い時間を想起させるものであると捉えている。陶芸が喚起する時間感覚や素材感は、現代の欲望を映し出す鏡となり得ると考えている。
Doyeon Lim(b.1997) was born and raised in Korea. She earned her Master of Fine Arts from Korea National University of Arts, South Korea, in 2024, following her Bachelor of Visual Arts from the same university. She is looking for answers to the question, ‘What does the old medium of ceramics mean in contemporary?’ Contrary to modern values that only encourage the development of the direction of overcoming the body, ceramics hold heavy and remind us of the long time when human had his feet on the ground. She thinks that the sense of time and sense of the material reminded by ceramics can be a mirror to that reflects contemporary desires.
