Born in Fukuoka in 1980. Yuya Obata began exhibiting his oil paintings in 2000. He has been based in Yokohama since 2008. In recent years, he has been interested in naturalism, and has been creating paintings with subdued tone of communication by avoiding meaning and symbols.
