Artist Ting-Chun Chen was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1986. She received a MFA Degree from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College of London (UCL) in 2011. She was working as an Artist during 2011-2013 after the graduation from UCL.
Chen is interested in the narrative spaces, the setting of objects, the movement and stillness. Her painting collections include "Their Rooms, Their Dreams" in 2013, which was a visiting project by 30 participants in London in different age groups from different living districts and countries, with various jobs. By ways of distributing leaflets and sending random emails, the artist was invited to enter others' private spaces (houses/rooms). After observation, photographs, and interviews, She used painting as the medium to convey her ideas. This project was the selected award in Taipei Art Award in 2013, the same year she had her first solo show in Gai Art Gallery, Taipei.
Chen had done several residencies in US, Australia and Japan. She explores her idea by approaching different aspects and mediums. Now She is working and living in Taipei, Taiwan.
