仲乃湯アーカイブ展示 会期中
横浜市南区で2月に閉業した老舗銭湯「仲乃湯」の、
番台や看板をはじめとする什器、これまでのアーカイブ活動の展示、ZINE(記録冊子)の販売
77年間営業し、2026年2月に閉業した銭湯「仲乃湯」。
神社仏閣の建築様式を取り入れた宮造りが用いられている空間、３代目の店主のユニークなおもてなしなど特徴ある銭湯で、幅広い世代に親しまれていた。
黄金町エリアマネジメントセンターのレジデンスアーティストが通っていたことをきっかけにアーティストの自主展示や映像作品の上映会などが開催。
閉店が決まった後、何かできることはないかと有志のメンバーが集まり、アーカイブチームが活動を開始。
閉店から1ヶ月後に仲乃湯に感謝を伝え、記憶を残す最後の日としてイベント「謝・アワー」を開催。ライブや演劇などのパフォーマンスとパネル展示を行った。
木組の番台や看板などの什器の引き継ぎも行い、本アーカイブ展示ではそれらの什器やこれまでの活動を紹介する。
また、クラウドファンディングによって集めた資金で制作した仲乃湯のこと、アーカイブチームの活動をまとめたZINE(記録冊子)の販売を実施。

"Nakano-yu," a long-established public bathhouse in Minami Ward, Yokohama, that closed in February,
including the reception counter, signboard, and other fixtures, as well as an exhibition of archival materials and the sale of a zine (documentary booklet)
"Nakano-yu," a public bathhouse that operated for 77 years before closing in February 2026.
It was a distinctive public bath beloved by people of all ages, featuring a “Miya-zukuri” architectural style inspired by Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, as well as the unique hospitality of its third-generation owner.
After a resident artist from the Koganecho Area Management Center began frequenting the bathhouse, independent art exhibitions and film screenings were organized.
After the decision to close was made, a group of volunteers gathered to see what they could do, and an archive team began its work.
One month after the closure, they held the “Thank You Hour” event as a final day to express gratitude to Nakano-yu and preserve its memory. The event featured live music, theater performances, and a panel exhibition.
We also took over fixtures such as the wooden reception counter and signage; this archive exhibition showcases these items and highlights our activities to date.
In addition, we will be selling a zine (a commemorative booklet) summarizing the history of Nakano-yu and the activities of the archive team, produced with funds raised through crowdfunding.
*Sales of the ZINE are scheduled to begin around Saturday, September 19 (as of August 31).
