今を表す「DIGITAL」と「REALITY」を舞踏を通して横浜×黄金町で新たに経験！
DIGITAL//REALITY（デジタル・リアリティ）は DANCE DANCE DANCE @ YOKOHAMA 2021 の連携企画です。コロナ禍の中で発達したオンライン「DIGITAL」世界を、現実の世界「REALITY」に戻す試みとして、国際舞踏フェスティバルを横浜・黄金町で実施します。 横浜で長年の歴史を持ち、世界に広く影響を与えた「舞踏」を紹介します。
世界に名を残した舞踏家大野一雄は、横浜市上星川で長年暮らし、横浜の海岸で幾度となく踊っていました。そうしたの大野の「生活」が舞台となっている映像作品の上映をはじめ、大野の弟子で現代を代表する舞踏家上杉満代の新作公演、日本の舞踏に影響を受け新たな作品を作り出したニューヨークの舞踏家たちによる映像作品の上映と、大野一雄とその息子大野慶人から学んだ舞踏家たちの公演を発表します。
「舞踏」とは
舞踏の歴史を遡ると、戦後日本にたどり着きます。1920年代のドイツ・モダンダンスを根源としたこの踊りは、巨匠土方巽、大野一雄の教えを経て、アバンギャルドな思想として誕生しました。土方巽の作品『禁色』（1959）を始めとし、70年代後半より、大野一雄の『ラ・アルヘンチーナ頌』を機に「BUTOH」の名が世界各地に知れ渡ります。現在では世界中で舞踏フェスティバルが開催されています。
Experience the current world of DIGITAL REALITY through Butoh in Koganecho, Yokohama!
DIGITAL REALITY, part of DANCE DANCE DANCE @ YOKOHAMA 2021 festival, is a one-time only international Butoh festival to be held in Koganecho that can only take place this year. Born out of the special circumstances that took all performers online in 2020, this is an attempt to entice people back to “REALITY”, while looking back to the “DIGITAL”.
Yokohama has a long history with Butoh, with key founders Kazuo Ohno and his son Yoshito Ohno living in the city for most of their lives. Despite this, Butoh is relatively unknown in Yokohama. This festival aims to introduce a new audience to Butoh, with a film by Kazuo Ohno, a live performance by his student Mitsuyo Uesugi, film screenings by international Butoh performers and a live performance by students who studied under Yoshito Ohno.
What is Butoh?
Butoh is a performing art that began in post war Japan. With roots in 1920s German Modern Dance, it began as a groundbreaking avant-garde form pioneered by Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno. Tatsumi Hijikata’s Kinjiki (Forbidden Colours) in 1959 is often cited as the first Butoh performance, and Kazuo Ohno’s Admiring La Argentina popularised Butoh around the world in the 1970s. Today, there are Butoh festivals all over the world.

Crowdfunding Campaign
One of the key points of this festival is that we want to make it free, and not take any money from ticket sales, in order to give as many new people access to Butoh as possible. This project is receiving a partial grant from Yokohama City, but it is not enough to run the program and we are running a crowdfunding campaign to raise the rest of the funding we need. Please consider supporting our project.
