トー・ヘ（Tò he）は、約400〜500年前に誕生した、米粉で作られるベトナムの伝統的な民芸玩具です。
職人の手によって、伝統的な動物から現代的なモチーフまで、赤・黄・緑といった鮮やかな色彩のさまざまな形へと生み出されます。

トー・ヘはまた、古代の祭祀に用いられていた造形物から、今日の身近なストリートトイへと受け継がれてきた、「時間」と「祖先」との対話でもあります。
それは、聖なる伝統と日常生活とをつなぎ、真の価値は「所有すること」ではなく、「今この瞬間を体験する過程」にあることを私たちに思い起こさせます。
この考え方は、すべてのものが移ろいゆく中に美を見出す、日本の「無常」の美意識とも共鳴しています。

本ワークショップでは、トー・ヘの歴史や背景を紹介しながら、日本の土人形との共通点や相違点についても共有します。

また、2025年の新年を祝うトー・ヘの造形体験を、ワークショップの一環として行います。

Tò he is a type of Vietnamese folk toy appearing about 400 – 500 years ago made from rice flour. Through the hands of the molder, Tò he appears in many different shapes from traditional animals to modern images, colorful figures in red, yellow, and green. Besides, Tò he is also a dialogue between time and ancestors from items in ancient worship rituals to familiar street toys today. It helps to connect sacred traditions with daily life and reminds us that true value lies in the process of experiencing the present moment instead of possession. This idea resonates with the Japanese concept of impermanence, where beauty is found in the transience of everything. 

This workshop aims to introduce and share the story of Tò he: its similarities and differences with Japanese clay figurines.

A Tò he modeling activity to celebrate the New Year 2025 will take place during the workshop.
