不要になった包装紙がありましたら、ぜひ黄金町エリアマネジメントセンターまでお持ちください。
みなさんの包装紙が、新しいアート作品につながります✨
Our upcoming artist-in-residence, Sim Seong-a, will start her residency in October.
She creates unique landscape collages using wrapping paper, and is now collecting materials for her work.
If you have any unused or unwanted wrapping paper, please bring it to the Koganecho Area Management Center.
Your paper could become part of her new artwork! ✨

＊寄付していただいた紙は、入居アーティストのコラージュ作品の材料として使われます。

When you donate five used paper items, you’ll receive a collage postcard set as a gift.
The donated paper will be used by resident artist as material for their collage works.
Please refrain from donating the following items:
– Oily or stained paper
– Thick paper boxes from sweets/snacks
– Plain, unpatterned paper with no store names or logos

一枚の紙が、黄金町の風景になります。
2005年の秋、日本旅行から帰ってきた友人から「Mary’s FANCY CHOCOLATE」をお土産にもらいました。濃い緑に金箔でロゴが描かれた包装紙で包まれた箱でした。チョコレートもとても美味しかったのですが、当時大学で美術を専攻し、コラージュ作品を制作していたこともあり、美しい色の包装紙に惹かれて以来、さまざまな紙を集めるようになりました。
韓国・釜山の島、影島の山の中腹にある高神大学校で美術を専攻し、卒業後にマネージャーとして働いたアートファクトリイン多大浦では、甘川文化村の整備プロジェクトに携わりました。その後、ソウルの出版社を経て、白瀬文化村のアーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラムに3年間参加しながら、釜山の階段の多い町の風景は常に身近なものでした。長年集めた紙と、密集した建物の風景が融合し、「お店で使われていた紙」「キャラクターが描かれた紙」を使ったコラージュ風景という作品に発展し、多様な人々が共に暮らす社会、そしてその中に存在する個人の物語、自分自身と人生の大切さを表現する作品を制作するようになりました。
ご提供いただいた紙
今回黄金町での制作では、横浜に滞在中に集めた紙と、皆さまからご提供いただいた紙を使った作品1点、そして韓国で集めた紙を使った作品1点、計2点の風景作品を制作する予定です。これは両国間の文化交流であると同時に、黄金町と私が所属する釜山の創作空間「Ttottattoga」との作家交換交流であり、またアーティストとしての人生の中で、両国での経験を意味あるものとして残したいという想いが込められています。
今後、さまざまな国で続けていくプロジェクトのスタートを、黄金町の皆さまにご協力いただけることを光栄に思い、心より感謝申し上げます。
A single piece of paper becomes a landscape of Koganecho.
In the fall of 2005, I received “a box of Mary’s FANCY CHOCOLATE” from a friend who had returned from a trip to Japan. It was a beautifully wrapped box in deep green paper with a gold foil logo. The chocolate was delicious, but since I was majoring in fine arts at the time and working on collage pieces, I was captivated by the beautiful packaging and began collecting various types of paper from that point on.
I studied fine arts at Kosin University, located on a hillside in Yeongdo, an island in Busan. After graduation, I worked as a manager at Art Factory in Dadaepo, where I participated in a project to develop Gamcheon Culture Village. Later, I worked at a publishing house in Seoul and spent three years as an artist in residence in the Hinnyeoul Culture Village. The stepped village landscape of Busan has always been close to me. Over time, my paper collection and the densely packed buildings around me merged into a body of work — a collage of “papers once used in shops” and “papers with characters” — to express a society where diverse people coexist and the narratives and dignity of each individual.
For this Koganecho project, I will create two landscape pieces — one using papers collected during my stay in Yokohama and donated by you, and another using papers collected in Korea. This represents not only cultural exchange between the two countries, but also the artist exchange program between Koganecho and Ttottattoga, the creative space I belong to in Korea. It is also my intention to make the experiences between the two countries a meaningful part of my life as an artist.
I am honored and deeply grateful to be able to begin this ongoing international project with the support of everyone in Koganecho.
