この度黄金町エリアマネジメントセンターは、韓国の文化芸術投資会社「Clear Mind（クリアマインド）」と2019年度最初の国際交流事業「Golden Mind 55」を実施する運びとなりました。今回は、アートを介してまちと関わることを目指している韓国ソウルのギャラリー「Space 55」と協働し、互いのアーティストを紹介する展覧会を5・6月に黄金町で、7・8月にはソウルで開催します。Space 55は、ソウルの下町に位置した古い縫製工場を改装した場所です。当時使われていた縫製機械がその歴史の象徴として今も一台置かれています。今日、Space 55は黄金町と同様に、若いアーティストたちが多種多様な媒体を用いながら制作を進める拠点となっています。本展覧会では、韓国で最も活気のあるスペースで活動するアーティストたちが、どのように場所の歴史や物語を作品に織り交ぜているのか、それぞれの視点から見たイメージが縫製工場の糸のように紡がれ、綴られる物語を通して探ります。
