台北市と横浜市はパートナー都市として様々な分野で交流事業を行ってきており、2026年はパートナー都市提携20周年を迎えます。

芸術分野では2005年から～Taipei/Treasure Hill Artist Village（台北国際芸術村）とBankART1929の間で毎年アーティストを相互に派遣し、各施設で約3ヶ月の滞在制作をおこなってきています。2025年度は、台北市から湯雅雯（タン ヤーウェン）氏が2026年1月２日から3月31日まで横浜に滞在し、今回の展示でその成果を発表します。

Taipei and Yokohama have carried out exchange programs across various fields as partner cities, and 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of their partnership.
In the field of arts and culture, since 2005, Taipei Artist Village / Treasure Hill Artist Village and BankART1929 have conducted an annual artist exchange program, offering selected artists a three-month residency at the partner institution.
For the 2025 program year, artist Tang Ya-Wen (湯雅雯) from Taipei will undertake a residency in Yokohama from January 2 to March 31, 2026. This exhibition presents the body of work developed during her three-month stay.

横浜でのレジデンス滞在中、私の生活圏は、一本の長く伸びる河川と、東京都と横浜市街地を結ぶ高架鉄道に沿って広がっている。私のスタジオはその高架鉄道の下にあって、大きな窓ガラスがあり、開放性と私密性のあいだにあるような空間。私はまるで都市構造の「中間層（インタースペース）」に仮住まいしているかのように、ガラス越しに川の潮位の変化、景色の移ろい、光の角度、鳩が集まる場所、行き交う人々、そしてスタジオの真上を高速で走り抜けていく電車を観察していた。
冬季特有の日照条件によって、光は斜めに都市空間へと差し込み、乾燥した空気が光の散乱を抑え、建物の表面にはくっきりと引き伸ばされた光と影が映し出される。そうして、都市のなかで普段は見えにくい構造や空間が、光と影の浸透によって、その質感を伴いながら立ち現れてくる。
本展は、室内空間における「窓辺」に着目している。それは公共とプライベートのあいだにある中間的な状態であり、双方向的な視線の関係を内包する場所である。その感覚をもとに、今回の展示タイトルでは、日本語の「すむ」という言葉に着目した。「澄む」と「住む」という二つの意味を重ね合わせ、「ここは、すんでいる、ここに」と名付けている。
障子やガラスといった透光性のある日本の伝統的建築素材、そして複合メディアを用いることで、分類や言語化しにくい現場に応答し、日常の痕跡、想像、そして制作のあいだに生じる重なりを立ち上げようとしている。（湯雅雯により）

During my residency in Yokohama, my daily life stretches along a long river and an elevated railway line connecting Tokyo and central Yokohama. My studio was located beneath the railway, with a big glass window that placed the space somewhere between public and private. From there, I observed the changing tide of the river, the shifting light, the places where pigeons gathered, the people passing by, and the trains running overhead.
Winter light entered the streets at a sharp angle, and the dry air made shadows appear clear and stretched across the surfaces of buildings. Through this light and shadow, structures and spaces that usually go unnoticed began to reveal themselves.
This exhibition focuses on the “window” as a space between public and private—where inside and outside meet, and where different gazes intersect. It reflects on the textures created where city life and domestic space overlap.
Based on this sensibility, the exhibition title draws attention to the Japanese word sumu, which carries the dual meanings of “clear (澄む)” and “dwell (住む).” By overlapping these two meanings, the exhibition is titled: ここは、すんでいる、ここに(Breathing Here)
Using translucent materials such as shoji and glass, along with mixed media, the exhibition responds to the site and explores the overlapping traces of everyday life, imagination, and artistic practice. (By Tang Ya-Wen)
