本展「考えなかった」は、黄金町のレジデンスアーティストである画家・張宏彦（Yen）と、黄金町スタッフであり写真家でもある劉書佳（Liu）による二人展である。
本展では、二人がそれぞれ本来の制作メディアを交換し、Yenは写真作品を、Liuは絵画作品を発表する。互いの制作方法や、写真と絵画における思考や習慣の共通点・差異を検証しながら、対話を重ねてきた。
展覧会タイトル「考えなかった」は、ポスター撮影時にタイトルを画面内に印刷して配置することを決めたものの、当時はまだ正式な展覧会名が定まっていなかったことに由来する。同時に、Yenの写真とLiuの絵画におけるイメージの構築や想像は、名称や概念が確定する以前からすでに始まっている。そこには、創作や探求の過程における「徹底的な想定をしない」状態が内包されている。
厳密な思考に入る以前に、すでに手と眼は動き出している。理由を言語化するよりも先に、選択という行為は生まれている。本展は、そのような創作の経験をひらき、あらためて見つめ直す試みとして構成されたものである。
This exhibition, Hadn’t Thought, is a two-person show by Chang Hung-Yen(Yen), an artist in residence at Koganecho, and Liu Shujia(Liu), a staff member at Koganecho and also a photographer.
In this exhibition, the two exchange their usual creative mediums: Yen presents photographic works, while Liu exhibits paintings. Through this exchange, they examine and discuss their respective methods of making, as well as the similarities between the habits and structures of photography and painting.
The exhibition title, “Hadn’t Thought,” was printed and placed within the image during the DM shoot, when the exhibition name had not yet been finalized. The title derives from this condition of indeterminacy. At the same time, in both Yen’s photography and Liu’s painting, the construction and imagination of images occur prior to the fixation of names or concepts. The title therefore also refers to a state within the creative process that is “not yet fully conceived,” and remains in continuous transformation.
Before entering rigorous thought, the hands and eyes have already begun to move; before reasons are articulated into language, choices have already been enacted. This exhibition emerges from laying open such creative experiences, examining them, and bringing them into display.

張宏彦 (チャン・ホンイェン)
張宏彦は1999年台湾生まれ。清華大学芸術学部および学際哲学プログラムを卒業。主な制作媒体はアクリル絵画であり、抽象的でありながらも認識可能なイメージによって風景を描き、鑑賞者の直感的な知覚と現実の体験との関係を探求している。
主な個展に「Pure Matter」（WAN GALLERY、新竹、2024年）、「Illumination from Across」（WAN GALLERY、新竹、2022年）がある。
彼の芸術理念は、直感性とアクセシビリティを重視し、鑑賞者を合理的な分析の枠組みから離れさせ、純粋な感覚的体験へと導くことを目指している。また、従来の社会的視点から切り離された展示空間を創出することで、鑑賞者が事物の本質との直接的なつながりを再構築し、言語や分析を超えた対象の純粋な本質を明らかにできると考えている。
Chang Hung-Yen
Chang Hung-Yen, born in 1999 in Taiwan, graduated from the School of Art and Interdisciplinary Philosophy Program at Tsinghua University. His primary medium is acrylic painting, and his work focuses on depicting landscapes through abstract yet recognizable imagery, exploring the relationship between viewers’ intuitive perception and their real-life experiences.
His solo exhibitions include Pure Matter (WAN GALLERY, Hsinchu, 2024) and Illumination from Across (WAN GALLERY, Hsinchu, 2022).
Yen’s artistic emphasizes intuitiveness and accessibility, aiming to guide viewers away from frameworks of rational analysis and towards a focus on pure sensory experience. He believes that by creating exhibition spaces detached from conventional societal perspectives, viewers can rebuild a direct connection with the essence of things, revealing the pure nature of objects beyond language and analysis.
劉 書佳（リュウ・シュカ）
2002年中国生まれ。アートプロジェクトや音楽フェスティバルなどを中心に、ドキュメンタリー写真の撮影・制作を行う。2024年より横浜・黄金町を拠点に活動を開始。現在は黄金町エリアマネジメントセンターにて、広報および国際交流を担当している。
2025年、インドネシア·バンドンにて個展『I Wonder What You Are Thinking』を開催。同年、写真記録集『黄金町日和』を刊行し、関連作品を黄金町バザールにて展示した。
Liu Shujia
Born in China in 2002. Works primarily in documentary photography, focusing on art projects and music festivals. Based in Koganecho, Yokohama since 2024. Currently in charge of public relations and international exchange at the Koganecho Area Management Center.
Solo exhibition I Wonder What You Are Thinking in Bandung, Indonesia in 2025. Published the photo record book Days of Koganecho in the same year, with related works exhibited at the Koganecho Bazaar.
