展覽從藝術家於駐村期間所面對的語言陌生處境出發，回望祖母與外公自福建遷居香港的歷史，同時觸及橫濱這座港口城市所承載的遷徙記憶。試圖想像移居者如何在語言未及之處，摸索生活與感知世界，並以橘色虞美人作為象徵，映照在異地生活中所展現出的韌性與柔軟——一種不需命名、自然伸展的緩慢生存方式。 《景色になる前に》意指風景尚未成形，呼應一種尚在途中、無法確指的觀看狀態，也對應於遷徙過程中語言失效的感知經驗。作品涵蓋攝影、錄像、半透明版畫與布料拼接等媒材，透過圖像的解構與重組，重新測量觀看的位置，於變動與未定之中，尋得暫時的棲居之所。
この展示は、アーティストが横浜でのレジデンス滞在中に感じた、言葉がすんなり届かない環境から始まっています。そこから、祖父母が福建から香港へ移り住んだ記憶へと視線を向け、港町・横浜が持つ「移動」の歴史とも重ねていきます。 見知らぬ土地で、言葉にならないまま日々を過ごし、世界を感じる——そんな移住者たちの感覚に想いを寄せながら、作品にはオレンジ色のポピーが登場します。名前がなくても咲き続けるその姿は、異国で根を張り、静かに広がっていくような生のかたちを象徴しています。 「景色になる前に」とは、まだ風景にならない「途中のまなざし」です。形が定まらず、どこにも言葉が届かない、その揺らぎのなかで私たちは何を見るのか。 写真、映像、透ける版画、布のレイヤーなど、複数の素材を使いながら、イメージを組み直すことで、「見る場所そのもの」をゆっくりと問い直していきます。決まった始まりも終わりもなく、ただ、変わり続けるあわいに、一瞬の居場所を探していくような展示です。
This exhibition begins with the artist’s experience of linguistic unfamiliarity during her residency in Yokohama, and extends toward a personal history: her grandparents’ migration from Fujian to Hong Kong. At the same time, it reflects on the migratory memory embedded in the port city of Yokohama. The artist imagines how migrants navigate life and perceive the world in the absence of language. The orange poppy serves as a symbol—its quiet resilience and tenderness mirror a slow, unfolding way of being that requires no naming, only gentle persistence. To Name What Has Not Yet Become a Landscape evokes a state of perception still in flux—an image not yet formed, a landscape still becoming. It resonates with the disoriented sensibility of migration, where language often falters and perception shifts. The works span photography, video, translucent printmaking, and layered textiles. Through the deconstruction and reassembly of images, the exhibition seeks to re-measure the act of seeing, finding a temporary dwelling within a terrain that is constantly shifting and unresolved.
