トム・ヨーク、チャールズ・ダーウィン、パブロ・ピカソは、創造と破壊を互いに切り離すことができない現象だと語りました。そして私たちもまた、悪辣でグロテスクな誕生の暴力性や、自然淘汰としての死、結末的な崩壊などを、創造、成長、神の復活のような高潔で美しい物語として描写します。人間の進歩と協力は、私たちの損害と苦しみを減少させ、驚くべき新しい時代の到来を告げますが、私たちは多くの種を貪り食い、地球を破壊することによって、それを行っています。
今回のシリーズでは、選択されたアクシデントと称賛された不完全なプロセスを用い、美しく歪んだ肖像、ねじれた形、またカラフルで人間のかたちにも見えるシュールなランドスケープで、美徳と悪徳の循環の相互作用や、生産的でありながら、破壊的である私たちの性質を探求します。

Thom Yorke, Charles Darwin, and Pablo Picasso are among those who have spoken of creation and destruction as a single interconnected act. Likewise, we describe the vicious and grotesque violence of birth, death by natural selection, and eventual decay with virtuous and beautiful stories of creation, growth, and divine rebirth. Human progress and cooperation reduces our own loss and suffering and ushers in astounding new eras, but we do this while devouring and destroying the planet and uncountable other species.
Through a process of curated accidents and celebrated imperfections, this series investigates the interplay of virtuous and vicious cycles and our productive yet destructive nature through beautifully misshapen portraiture, twisted figuration, and surreal landscapes writhing in colorful figural forms.

アーティスト
レイモンド・ホラチェック
アメリカ・マサチューセッツ州生まれ。ロードアイランド・スクール・オブ・デザインを卒業。アメリカとフランスでプロダクトデザインを学ぶ。2019年より黄金町AIR参加。幼少期から興味を持っていた日本文化から着想を得て、人、テクノロジー、自然との結びつきを探求する作品を制作している。フットウェア、ウェアラブルテクノロジー関連の商品のデザインも行う。主な展示歴として、2017年「structural surface」（ノリタケの森ギャラリー、名古屋）、「jan jansen shoe treasures」（rokin 75、オランダ）など。

Born in Massachusetts, America. Graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Studied product design in America and France, and part of Koganecho AIR since 2019. Inspired by Japanese culture since childhood, he creates works that explore the relationship between humans, technology and nature. He also designs footwear and “wearable technology”. Major exhibitions include structural surface (2017, Noritake Garden Gallery, Nagoya), and jan jansen shoe treasures (rokin 75, The Netherlands).

The Koganecho Area Management Center holds an exhibition event while working on preventive measures against the COVID-19 infection.
-Please refrain from visiting if you are not feeling well, or if you are infected or suspected to be infected.
-Please cooperate with etiquette such as wearing a mask or covering your mouth with a handkerchief, checking body temperature at the time of entry, hand disinfection with alcohol, etc. (Please be considerate of those who are not recommended to wear masks.)
-There is no advance reservation, but admission may be restricted during busy times.
