Intermission は、パフォーマンスと自己認識のあいだにある一瞬の間（ま）を探る作品です。そこでは、学習され社会的に承認された反応がゆるみ、より真実に近い何かが立ち現れます。
私は、マスキングや適応が、私たちが「真正性」と呼ぶものをどのように形づくっているのか、そして社会に適応することがもはや第一の課題でなくなったときに何が残るのかを考察しています。
主に彫刻を用いながら、私は欲望、喪失、共感、抑圧された感情といった心理状態を、視覚的メタファーを通して人間の身体へと翻訳しています。
ドローイングは、この実践を支える調整行為として機能しており、私の神経系を安定させると同時に、今後の作品を発展させる助けにもなっています。私は鑑賞者に、この短い Intermission に身を置き、身体が受け入れられるために自らを翻訳することをやめたとき、何が浮かび上がるのかを見つめてほしいと願っています。
Intermission explores the pause between performance and self recognition, when learned, socially approved reactions loosen and something more truthful can surface.
I examine how masking and adaptation shape what we call authenticity, and what remains when fitting in is no longer the primary task.
Working primarily with sculpture, I translate psychological states into the human body through visual metaphors of desire, loss, empathy, and repressed emotion.Drawing supports this practice as a regulatory act that helps stabilize my nervous system and develop future works. I invite viewers to inhabit this brief intermission, to notice what surfaces when the body stops translating itself for acceptance.

●アーティスト Artist
ターニャ・ハーマン（1981年生まれ）は、東京を拠点に活動するロシア出身の視覚芸術家で、主に彫刻を手がけている。幼少期よりアカデミックなデッサンおよび絵画の教育を受け、芸術教育を始めた。
ロンドンのロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アートにてセラミックス＆ガラスの修士号を取得。2021年には、日本の多治見市陶磁器意匠研究所（意匠研）における2年間の研究課程を修了した。
2023年より国際陶芸アカデミー（IAC）の会員。心理学や哲学への関心を背景に、ターニャは人生の曖昧さや知覚の主観性に関わる複雑な人間経験を探究している。彼女の作品は、人間の決断を駆動する要因とその帰結、そして恐怖、抑圧された怒り、アブジェクト、愛、フラストレーション、喪失といった感情を主題としている。
Tania Herman (b. 1981) is a Tokyo-based visual artist of Russian origin focusing on sculpture. She began her art education in academic drawing and painting during early childhood. Tania holds a Masters degree in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art, London. In 2021 she completed two years of research at The Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Centre (Ishoken), Japan. She has been an International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) member since 2023. Having an interest in psychology and philosophy, Tania investigates complex human experiences related to life ambiguity and subjectivity of perception; she explores the drivers and consequences of human decisions and corresponding emotions such as fear, repressed anger, abject, love, frustration, loss, etc. through her work.

レナ・アフラモワは、黄金町を拠点に活動するウクライナ系イスラエル人のアーティスト／キュレーターであり、長期滞在アーティストとして活動を続けています。日本で20年にわたり暮らしながら、写真、テキスト、空間インスタレーションにまたがる複合的な実践を展開してきました。
彼女はハイファ大学で教育カウンセリングの修士号を取得し、ニューヨーク・フィルム・アカデミーを通じて東映京都撮影所の映画制作プログラムを修了しました。彼女の写真作品は、The New York Times、BBC News、Newsweek などで紹介されています。また、アート、教育、社会的実践をつなぐ協働プロジェクトにも取り組んできました。
彼女の作品は、身体と空間の関係を探求し、とりわけ感情、記憶、アイデンティティが、生きられた環境のなかでどのように形づくられるのかに注目しています。彼女の実践の中心にあるのが、川沿いに位置するスタジオ兼ギャラリー THE ROOM であり、そこは創作の場であると同時に、キュレーションの実験や協働のための空間としても機能しています。
Lena Aframova is a Ukrainian-Israeli artist and curator based in Koganecho, where she has worked as a long-term resident artist. Having lived in Japan for the past 20 years, she has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning photography, writing, and spatial installation.
She holds an MA in Educational Counseling from Haifa University and completed a filmmaking program at TOEI Kyoto Studio through the New York Film Academy. Her photography has been featured in The New York Times, BBC News, and Newsweek. Her projects include collaborations that connect art, education, and social engagement.
Her work explores the relationship between body and space, with particular attention to how emotion, memory, and identity are shaped through lived environments. Central to her practice is THE ROOM, her studio and gallery by the river, which functions both as a site of artistic production and as a space for curatorial experimentation and collaboration.
