Ming Jueru

Priestess / 2024 / Dyes, potassium permanganate, acrylic, oil paint, linen

Profile

Ming Jueru received her BA in Printmaking from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2016 and earned her MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts in 2020. Her work is centered on a belief in nature, she sees nature as a form of faith that requires no scripture.
She typically works drawing with dyes and paints directly onto raw fabric. Rather than controlling the materials, she lets the dyes soak in, spread, bloom, and fade on their own. She describes herself as a “passive participant”—she sets the initial conditions, then observes how the image evolves, uncovering images from the subconscious. Her work blurs the boundaries between body and landscape, and myth and personal experience。She had her first solo exhibition in Shanghai in 2025.
