gansomaeda (Go Watanabe + Gaku Tsutaja)

gansomaeda is an artist unit formed by artists Go Watanabe and Gaku Tsutaja in 1999. Both have completed the research program of the Center for Contemporary Art Kitakyushu. While pursuing individual activities, they share perspectives and ideas as peers, addressing systems inherent in daily life, the environment surrounding art, and the contradictions and issues faced by artists. They have developed multimedia works that are characterized by humor and satire. Major exhibitions include the Yokohama Triennale (2005), Akiyoshidai International Art Village (2004), THINK ZONE (2002), Art Camp Natatsue (2002), Hosomi Museum (2002), Candy Factory (2000), and Gallery SOAP (2000).
