フィフィ

HWIHWI（フィフィ）は、韓国芸術総合学校大学院美術学部写真専攻を修了し、写真や16mmフィルム、脚本など複数のメディアを用いて作品制作を行う。フィルムという素材の物質性に着目しながら、故郷である済州島とそこに根ざした個人的な物語を視覚的に探求している。済州で起きた出来事を、地域に固有のものではなく、世界各地で繰り返される現象として捉え、災厄の状態やそこに生きる人々の姿を、多角的に描き出すことを試みている。

HWIHWI earned her Master’s degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Photography at Korea National University of Arts. Her practice centers on the materiality of film, working across photography, 16mm film, and playwriting to visually explore her hometown, Jeju, and personal narratives rooted in it. She views specific events that occurred in Jeju not as isolated incidents, but as globally recurring phenomena. Through various media, she addresses these overlooked states of disaster and captures the people and stories within them.
