黄金町バザール2010に参加した蔡坤霖(ツァイ・クェンリン)が秋吉台国際芸術村(山口)で知りあったアーティスト山田哲平とともに、横須賀で海洋研究を行う林子皓(リン・ズハオ) と協働し、水中の音に関する作品を制作する。

Tsai Kuen-Lin, who participated in Koganecho Bazaar 2010, met a Japanese artist Teppei Yamada in a residency program of Akiyoshidai International Art Village. In Koganecho Bazaar 2018, they will collaborate with Lin Tzu-Hao, who is a marine researcher in an institution in Yokosuka, and may create works regarding sound under river.

蔡坤霖(ツァイ・クェンリン) Tsai Kuen-Lin

1979年台湾生まれ。現在台北を拠点に活動。国立台北芸術大学ニューメディア・アート研究科修了。作品の基本要素として音とプラスチックのパイプを使う。人々が空間や場所に対して普段抱いているあまり鋭いとは言えない感覚を活性化するために「聴くこと」を巧みにあやつる。

Born in Taiwan, 1979. Based in New Taipei. Graduated from the MFA Program at the Department of New Media Art of the Taipei National University of the Arts. He uses sound and plastic pipes as the basic elements for his creative expression. He aims to use hearing in order to affect the inertial thoughts people usually have towards space and place.

山田哲平 Teppei Yamada

1979年東京都生まれ。現在神奈川県を拠点に活動。2009年広島市立大学芸術学研究科博士前期課程修了。幼少期の子役の経験が制作に大きく関わり、音や映像、動力を使ったアプローチで世界の構造を読み解くための装置として作品を制作している。2018年にグローバル社会の構造と人間の根源的な要素の類似性をテーマにした《Apart and/or Together》がifva awards(香港アートセンター)でシルバー賞を受賞する。

Born in Tokyo, 1979. Based in Kanagawa. Completed MA at the Graduate School of Art, Hiroshima City University, 2009. His experience through working as a child actor influences his production. Utilizing sound, video and dynamics, he creates works as a device for understanding structure of the world. Apart and / or Together, which deals with the similarity between structure of the global society and the fundamental element of human beings, won the silver prize of the ifva awards from the Hong Kong Arts Center in 2018.

林子皓(リン・ズハオ) Lin Tzu-Hao

1988年台湾生まれ。2013年国立台湾大学にて博士号取得後、海洋研究開発機構で研究を進めるため、2018年に横浜へ移住。特に、海洋サウンドスケープとエコロジーを専門とする。台湾サウンドスケープ研究事業の共同創始者であり、またIQOE(International Quiet Ocean Experiment)において海洋生物多様性が見受けられる場所での音響測定を行うグループのメンバーでもあり、自然環境サウンドスケープのデータ公開に寄与している。

Born in Taiwan, 1988. Based in Yokohama. After received his Ph.D. from National Taiwan University in 2013, he moved to Yokohama in 2018 to conduct his research in JAMSTEC. His research focuses on marine soundscape and ecology. As a co-founder of the Taiwan Soundscape Monitoring Project and a member of Working group on Acoustic Measurement of Ocean Biodiversity Hotspots, International Quiet Ocean Experiment, his works promote the open data of soundscape ecology.
