変わりゆく横浜の街の中で、この銭湯は人と人との交流の場として歴史の中に佇んでいる。私たち黄金町を拠点とするアーティストもまた、普段からお客としてこの銭湯によく訪れていた。次第に銭湯の店主とも親交を深め、常連客となった二人のアーティストを通じて、本企画は立ち上がった。
幸いなことに、銭湯で作品を上映したり展示を行うという思いがけない企画に対して、店主も大変興味を示してくださった。
私たちは、本企画を通じてアートやアニメーションが地元の人たちにとってより身近なものになればと願う。そして、横浜に住む国内外のアーティストたちと、横浜の人たちとの距離を縮めることに成功すると信じている。
ーーーブバ・バブル
In the ever-changing city of Yokohama, this bathhouse stands in the midst of history as a place for people to interact with each other. We, artists based in Koganecho, have also been regular visitors to the bathhouse. Gradually, we became friends with the owner of the bathhouse, and it was through these two artists, who became regular customers, that this project was born.
Fortunately, the owner of the bathhouse has been very supportive of this unexpected project of exhibiting artworks in a public bathhouse.
We hope that through this project, art and animation will become more accessible to local residents. We believe that this project will succeed in bringing artists from Japan and abroad closer to the people of Yokohama.

「ブバ・バブル」は、横浜を拠点に活動する、アジアの若手の女性たちによるコレクティブである。
温泉や銭湯で映像作品を上映し、湯気と映像が相互作用することで、どのように鑑賞体験に影響を与えることができるか挑戦する。
私たちは、あらゆる種類の「動くアート (moving Images)」を銭湯で映像を見るという体験へと拡大し、アートを銭湯体験全体の一部とすることに決めた。
このグループの目的は、映像やアニメーションの特性と場所生を生かし、その相互作用によって起こりうるスペクタクルな結果を見ることだ。
Bubba Bubble is a project made up of young women from countries in Asia and around the world who have been calling Yokohama their home for the last couple of years.
It all started with the desire to show animation films in an onsen or sento setting, where the steam can interact with the visuals and the viewer can be submerged in the hot water, and how that might affect or change the viewing experience.
We decided to expand this idea of watching animations in the sento setting into experiencing all kinds of moving art, making art a part of the whole sento experience.
The purpose of this group is to make what sounds like an intriguing idea real, and see its consequences.
